Ben du Toit

Prof Ben du Toit teaches silviculture and related disciplines at the Department of Forest and Wood Science, Stellenbosch University. His current research focuses on the effects of nutrient, water and light availability on the productivity and sustainability of various taxa in tree plantations and agroforestry systems. Secondary focus areas include carbon sequestration, forest fire management and silvicultural management/utilization of indigenous forests and woodlands under threat of climate change. He also acts as a consultant on nutritional, silvicultural, soil carbon sequestration and fire-related matters in forest systems.
